HU-ASME partners with the Cultural Academy for Excellence

The American Society of Mechanical Engineers Howard University student chapter (HU-ASME) has partnered with the Cultural Academy for Excellence (CAFE) for a number of years with their Saturday Academy. In Spring 2014, HU-ASME won funding through the Diversity Action Grant (DAG) hosted by ASME. The DAG grant is for ASME student chapters to use in sponsoring an activity that will bring awareness to STEM. HU-ASME chose to do so through an activity that would inspire pre-college students at CAFE. Fall 2014 HU-ASME partnered with The NanoExpress mobile lab from the Nanoscience and Engineering Facility at Howard University and brought a day full of STEM activities and lessons to CAFE student’s middle and high school aged.
